With Jennifer, For Her Girls — Standing Strong Together

If you’re reading this, it’s likely because Jennifer has touched your life in some way—through a kind gesture, a steady presence, or simply by being the compassionate and thoughtful person she is. Or perhaps a friend shared this page with you, knowing how much it means to come together when someone we care about needs support.

What many don’t know is that behind Jennifer’s radiant spirit lies a deeply personal battle—one she has fought with quiet courage. Jennifer is currently facing stage IV malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. True to who she is, she has kept much of this struggle private, not wanting to worry or burden others. She is strong, selfless, and fiercely independent—never one to ask for help, even when she needs it most. But now, as treatment becomes more complex and demanding, a group of us—her close friends and loved ones—are reaching out on her behalf.

Jennifer, her husband, and their two young daughters – Jaymie (6) and Parker (1) are navigating not only the emotional toll of this diagnosis, but also the growing financial challenges that come with life-altering illness: time away from work, travel for treatment, and the many unplanned costs that follow. Our goal is to ease some of that burden, so Jennifer can focus on what matters most—her healing, her children, and the people she loves.

Throughout it all, Jennifer has shown incredible resilience. She has faced each step—every test, every setback, every treatment—with determination and quiet courage. Even on the hardest days, she carries herself with the same grace and steadiness that have always defined her.

We know she would never ask for this kind of help herself, which is exactly why we are. If you’re able to donate, share this campaign, or simply keep Jennifer and her family in your thoughts, we’re truly grateful. Your support—no matter the form—means more than you know. ❤️

Jennifer’s Journey So Far

(Please note: The following includes medical information that may be difficult to read. This is a very light and concise summary, please contact us for additional details if required)

• 2023: While pregnant with her second daughter, Parker, Jennifer noticed a small growth on her skin. Her doctor believed it to be hormone-related and advised monitoring it post-delivery.

• March 2024: Jennifer sought private surgery to remove the growth, which had increased in size. The biopsy revealed it was cancerous.

• April 2024: After referral to a surgical oncologist, a PET scan revealed stage IV melanoma (BRAFV600 mutation), with further imaging uncovering a lesion in her brain.

• May–July 2024: Jennifer began immunotherapy (Ipilimumab and Nivolumab). She tolerated treatment despite developing adrenal insufficiency partway through.

• July 2024: A scan showed progression with new lesions, and she was transitioned to a new oral targeted therapy (Encorafenib and Binimetinib).

• October 2024: Encouraging news—tumor shrinkage and decreased cancer activity. For a moment, it felt like the tide was turning.

• January 2025: Jennifer noticed changes in the tumor. A new scan showed disease progression in her body and brain. She was referred to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto to explore clinical trial options.

• February–April 2025: Jennifer enrolled in a clinical trial in Toronto and made every effort to fly home between treatments to spend as much time as possible with her family. While she tolerated the therapy well, follow-up scans showed continued progression in the brain and body, the trial was ultimately discontinued.

• April 2025: Following the end of the trial, Jennifer has been managing side effects from the medication, adding to the toll on her health. She began preparing for targeted radiation to help relieve pain from growing lesions and stabilize those in her brain. She is also working closely with her primary oncologist to explore next steps, including potential new clinical trials.

• May 2025: Jennifer completed her first rounds of targeted radiation on both the primary tumor and brain lesions. The goal is to ease daily discomfort and keep the brain lesions stable—an important step toward qualifying for new clinical trials.

Jennifer is unwavering in her determination to keep fighting, driven by the love she has for her children and her desire to be there for them. She is now exploring new clinical trials and advanced treatment options, such as dendritic cell therapy and Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapy which are not available in BC. These treatments bring hope, but also come with significant challenges—especially around the costs, travel, and access to care.

With your support, Jennifer can continue exploring every possible path forward giving her not just the opportunity for care, but the hope that comes with having options.

Thank you for being here, for standing with Jennifer, and for supporting her through this fight.
