Hello kind souls,
My name is Elisa Morales (for privacy, I’m using my middle and maiden names). I’m a single mother to two bright, artistic young ladies who are still in school.
Recently, I made the difficult but necessary decision to move overseas. Why? To access affordable healthcare I couldn’t obtain in the U.S., as my former employer did not offer medical benefits.
But shortly after arriving abroad, life threw another unexpected challenge my way, my employer abruptly ended our work relationship, leaving me without income in a foreign country. I no longer qualify for assistance programs like food stamps or unemployment unless I physically return to the U.S. and reestablish residency -something I simply cannot do at this time.
On top of the financial strain, I’m quietly fighting a health battle. I have hypothyroidism, which has significantly worsened my bradycardia, a dangerously low heart rate. Mine often falls between 40–44 beats per minute, and has once dropped as low as 26 bpm. This isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s life-threatening without treatment. I feel the fatigue, dizziness, and strain daily.
While medical care is more accessible here than in the U.S., it’s still beyond reach without income. And as a mother, my instinct is to protect, especially emotionally. I haven’t shared these details with my daughters. They’re still too young, and I don’t want them burdened with fear or worry. That’s why I’m using discretion, and why I’ve chosen to share this under the name my close family knows me by.
I’m not only asking for financial help, I’m asking for prayers, for healing energy, and for a safe path forward. If you’re reading this, I thank you for simply witnessing our story.
The funds raised will go toward:
- Safe housing for me and my daughters
- Groceries and basic necessities
- Immediate medical evaluation and treatment
- A few months to stabilize while I seek new remote employment
I know the amount may seem high, but I aimed low, just enough to give us the breathing room to stabilize, heal, and rebuild. Every share, every prayer, every dollar counts.
