My name is Karen Jenkins and this is extremely hard for me to share this because those that know me know that I don’t like to ask for help, but this all happened very quickly and unexpected and we had very little time to prepare and put money back for living expenses or to prepare for back to school expenses for our 5 kids. On 6/6/25 I had to have urgent cervical spinal surgery I will be out of work for at least a few months or could be longer depending on how healing goes. I will also have to have physical therapy during the time I’m at home with no income. My insurance covers some but not all, and without income to pay my insurance premium every two weeks I will also loose my insurance in a few weeks. The only income I have is one more weeks worth of PTO time and that’s all. Justin will not be able to go back work until I am able to even be home alone and that will be another month or longer. With the line of work Justin does, he has no benefits like PTO or anything so we are completely without income due to my surgery and aren’t sure when we will have any at this point. I wish I wasn’t having to make this post but I’m honestly scared now that reality has hit and surgery has been done and there’s nothing I can do to contribute to our household.
