Urgent Dialysis Fund for Mari’s Mother-in-Law

Hello.

My name is Mari Pena, my wife and I have been living in the US since July 2024. We left Equador because we were facing discrimination against our sexual orientation. We wanted to get married and raise our daughter without the fear of being harassed. We came to the US with this purpose which we were able to accomplish.

Recently, my mother-in-law has been seriously ill, and her health has taken a dramatically incline . She requires dialysis three times a week due to kidney failure, and the financial burden of her medical bills is overwhelming. While my wife and I are doing everything we can to support our family, we both work minimum wage jobs, and it’s not enough to cover the high costs of her treatment. My family in Ecuador simply doesn’t have the means to pay for it either, leaving us feeling helpless and desperate.

For this reason, I’m reaching out to you today—with a heavy heart and a humble request for help. Every dollar we raise will go directly toward covering her dialysis treatments and the ongoing medical expenses she so urgently needs. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in helping us provide for her care and give her the fighting chance she deserves.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your generosity means more to us than words can express.

With sincere gratitude,

Mari Pena
