This June—National Men’s Health Awareness Month—we find ourselves facing the crisis that so many families hope never comes: our 22-year-old son attempted to take his own life.
He is a college senior studying to become an environmental engineer. He’s intelligent, witty, and kind. He’s the kind of young man who shows up for others—now, he needs us to show up for him.
He has silently struggled with his mental health for years, like so many in his generation. But this week, the weight became too much. Most importantly, he survived—and, thankfully, he made the courageous decision to accept help.
He is now receiving critical care at The Raleigh House, a nationally respected behavioral health facility that offers equine therapy, physical movement, and holistic treatment. It’s the exact kind of healing environment that meets his needs—nurturing both body and mind.
Unfortunately, insurance only goes so far. His care will exceed our coverage by more than $8,500. We’re asking for your support—whether that’s through a donation, a share, a prayer, or a kind word. Every bit of hope, every act of generosity, is a lifeline.
This is National Men’s Health Awareness Month—and this is the face of it. Our son. One of many young men who are struggling. Stand with us, together for him and for others like him, who are trying to hold on in silence.
Thank you for being part of his life-saving healing.
With love and deep gratitude,
The Needham Family
