Hey y’all.
It’s been a rough time for me. I’m sure it’s been rough for a lot of folks lately. Never thought I’d be doing this, honestly.
To start, I lost my job back in January of this year. I was laid off because my role was “phased out” and “no longer needed.” Since then, I’ve been doing what I can to make up for what I used to bring in. I have 2 jobs now, and I work between 20-30 hours at each every week. I’m able to support myself as well as an uncle who lives with me. He’s the reason I’m writing this.
He was a breadwinner if I ever saw one, man. He’s such a central figure in my life. When I was young, both of my parents passed. He took on the responsibility of raising me from then on, and we’ve been side by side since. In 2022, he got into a bad accident. He can’t use his legs, and he now struggles with heart problems. He has what’s called a Myocardial Contusion. It’s a bruise on his heart, and it causes him to have irregular heartbeats and such. I don’t know all the details. But I do know he needs his meds. That’s what this fundraiser is for.
I’ll be honest, I screwed up my finances for the month. I had car trouble, and since I need it to get to work, I prioritized that. For some reason, in my head, I thought we’d be good on his pills until I got paid, but that’s not the case.
This money would go towards getting his next prescription. It’s called Entresto, and even with a GoodRX coupon, it’s gonna cost me $670. I have around $200 in my bank account, and I can visit the food pantry for food tomorrow, so I’m not worried about that. Just really want to make sure the man who raised me gets to be here as long as he can.
Thank you for reading and for your consideration.
