Hi, I’m Tarina—thank you so much for being here.
I never thought I’d be the person creating a fundraiser, but I’m at a point in my journey where I truly need help. I’ve been dealing with chronic TMJ dysfunction, facial pain, jaw tension, tinnitus, ear pressure, and full-body tightness for years. It’s affected how I eat, sleep, focus, and just exist day to day.
My story goes back to 2019, when my nose was broken. Since then, I’ve had three nasal surgeries—including one that finally removed a hidden blood clot. That surgery helped with my breathing, but unfortunately didn’t relieve the intense facial pain, ear fullness, or body tension I live with every day.
About two years ago, I had a tube placed in my ear that caused so much pain and sound sensitivity (hyperacusis) that I had to have it surgically removed just four months later. But the symptoms didn’t stop. The tinnitus and nerve pain in my face, arms, and hands just kept getting worse.
After trying everything—bite guards, nasal surgery, chiropractic care, physical therapy—I finally found Dr. Jon Caulfield in Colorado. He looked at the full picture: my jaw, airway, neck, posture, and skeletal structure. And for the first time, everything made sense. He offered me something I’ve been searching for—hope.
On June 19th, I’ll begin treatment with a spring-loaded maxillary expansion device designed to gently widen my upper jaw, open my airway, and take pressure off the joints that have been causing so much dysfunction. I’ll also be working with a chiropractor throughout this process to help realign my body as I heal.
The treatment costs $7,500. I was approved for $3,000 through CareCredit, and my parents helped me cover the initial down payment so I could get started. But I still owe the remaining balance and will need support during the healing journey.
My goal is to raise $4,000 to cover the rest of the treatment and ongoing care.
