Urgent Update on Trechelle’s Health
My daughter. A Momma of 4!
On June 9th, my daughter, Trechelle, suffered a spontaneous Bilateral Pneumothorax—both of her lungs collapsed. She had to be life-flighted to Deaconess-Midtown in Evansville, Indiana, where she went into total bilateral lung collapse. She was seconds from coding when an emergency double chest tube placement was performed—without time for numbing.
Her lungs remain partially collapsed, and her left lung is consistently leaking. Last night, she was transferred to Deaconess Gateway-Heart Hospital, where a specialized team, including a cardiothoracic surgeon, will take over her care.
Today at noon, she will undergo her first surgery: VATS Pleurodesis to seal her left lung, either chemically or mechanically. If all goes well, her right lung repair is scheduled for Monday.
We have NO answers as to why this happened—right now, the only focus is saving her lungs and her life. She is in pain, exhausted, and overwhelmed, but fighting. Her recovery will be long, and she will be out of work indefinitely.
Please keep Trechelle in your thoughts and prayers. If anyone would like to offer support in any way, we would be incredibly grateful. ❤️
