My name is Tonya, and I recently lost my job as a server when my work, a 24-hour restaurant, announced it will permanently close on June 28th. My night shift was eliminated when they changed their hours and now close at 10 pm, leaving me suddenly without work. It’s only been a few days, but the impact has been immediate and overwhelming. I’m facing this loss while also living with stage D congestive heart failure—only 10% of my heart is functioning—and stage 3 kidney failure. These conditions make it extremely difficult to manage daily life, especially without a steady income.
Right now, I’m struggling to cover the costs of my medications, medical equipment, and regular visits to my cardiologist and kidney doctors. The stress of not being able to pay my bills is making it even harder to focus on my health. Every day is a challenge, and I’m doing my best to stay positive and take care of myself, but I can’t do it alone.
I’m reaching out for support to help cover my medical expenses and basic needs while I search for new work and focus on my health. Any help would mean the world to me and would go directly toward my care and keeping a roof over my head. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can give.
