Hi, my name is Jason Lippen and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend and coworker Stephanie who’s family is going through an unimaginable time of hardship.
Please read Stephanie’s story below and help us relieve some of the financial stress her family is having as they navigate through this difficult time.
‘My husbands name is Eric who is just 39 years old and has been fighting an incredibly difficult battle. In February 2023, shortly after we were married, Eric was hospitalized and diagnosed with an autoimmune disease attacking his liver. What we thought was already a life-altering diagnosis quickly turned even more serious when doctors discovered he also had cancer — and it was already stage 4.
Since then, his cancer has aggressively spread, including to his lungs, causing severe fatigue and shortness of breath. On June 2nd, 2025, Eric was officially placed on hospice care. He is now bedbound, and all treatment has stopped. Our focus now is on making him as comfortable and pain-free as possible.”
This has been an overwhelming journey for the Ortega family emotionally, physically, and financially. We are humbly asking for support to help cover basic living expenses and necessities while Stephanie is away from work to care for Eric full-time. Any contribution — no matter the amount — will go directly toward groceries, utilities, rent, and other essentials to help them get through this time.
