Hi, my name is Shelby Brown and it’s with a heavy but hopeful heart that I’m reaching out for help.
As a single mom and the sole provider for my home, I’ve always taken pride in doing everything I can to keep us afloat; emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially.
Asking for help is not easy for me. In fact, I’ve spent the last two years working to avoid it. Over this period of time I have also come to the realization that asking for help is not a weakness. I am humbled and so grateful for my family who have been amazing!!
In 2023, I was diagnosed with Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma (A type of kidney cancer). I had to undergo a full nephrectomy to remove my left kidney in August of the same year.
After recovering from my first surgery, in January of 2024 I underwent a partial nephrectomy surgery to remove the largest and most accessible tumors on my remaining kidney.
At this time the medical team also accessed lone tumors that were found deep inside my kidney which they were unable to remove (to gauge size and for future scan reference).
We had hope that the surgeries would be enough. Unfortunately, follow-up scans revealed that the tumors on my remaining kidney had increased in size.
In May 2025, I began immunotherapy and chemotherapy.
These treatments have taken a toll on my body and made it nearly impossible for me to work.
After exhausting my savings to cover medical bills and day-to-day expenses, I now find myself in a place I never imagined — needing help with my monthly expenses.
Your support would help cover: my mortgage so my son and I can stay in our home, ongoing medical bills not covered by insurance and
basic living expenses while I continue treatment and recovery.
Your support will also help launch me into the next phase of treatment, should another nephrectomy become unavoidable (dialysis until I am eligible for a kidney transplant).
If you’re in a position to help – no amount is too small. If you are unable to support us monetarily, sharing this page would mean the world to me.
God is my rock and I ask for all prayer warriors to please lift me up❤️❤️❤️
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this, for caring, and for being part of our journey.
James 1:2-4 (NIV) reminds us..”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
With love and gratitude,
Shelby Brown
