My name is Rhea, and I am reaching out on behalf of my parents, Ruderico “Rudy” Tulio and Alice L. Tulio. Both of them are facing serious health challenges that have placed a tremendous emotional and financial strain on our family. My father, Rudy, is 78 years old and has dedicated his life to his work as a CPA and lawyer. Even after a stroke in March, he continued to fight for his health, but he has since faced two more serious hospital admissions, including time in the ICU for sepsis and two episodes of cardiac arrest. Despite these setbacks, he remains awake and determined to recover. Throughout his life, my father has been a pillar of strength for our family and community. He overcame polio as a child, worked his way through school, and never hesitated to help others in need. He is a loving father to five children and a respected professional who always put his family first. My mother, Alice, is 74 and has shown incredible resilience in her long battle with cancer. She is an accountant and the eldest of five siblings, known for her diligence and strong will. After surviving thyroid cancer in 2003, she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009 and has been undergoing weekly chemotherapy and immunotherapy ever since. Recently, her cancer has spread to her pancreas and bones, requiring even more intensive treatment. Despite her illness, she continues to support our family by selling baked goods and homemade food, always holding onto her faith and hope to see her grandchildren graduate. Since March, our family has faced alternating hospitalizations for both parents, making it difficult to keep up with the mounting medical bills, treatments, and maintenance medications. I had to take emergency leave to return home to the Philippines, and my siblings and I are doing everything we can to care for our parents and support each other. We have taken out loans to cover expenses, but the financial burden continues to grow. We are reaching out for help so that we can continue to provide the care and treatment our parents need during this difficult time. Any support will go directly toward their medical bills, ongoing treatments, and essential medications. Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference for our family as we navigate these challenges together.
