A few months ago, our dad was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis—a progressive and incurable lung disease that has already taken a significant toll on his life. He’s now living with less than 50% lung capacity and relies on an oxygen machine full-time.
Doctors have prescribed a costly medication to slow the progression of the calcification of his lungs, but the long-term solution is a bilateral lung transplant. Soon, our parents will head to the Cleveland Clinic for a week-long evaluation in hopes of being added to the transplant list. If he’s accepted, this will mark the beginning of a long, complex, and expensive medical journey.
Our parents recently retired—something they worked hard their whole lives to achieve. But now, instead of enjoying this chapter, they’re facing overwhelming medical bills and uncertainty. We’re launching this fundraiser to help ease that burden. We want our dad to get the transplant he needs to survive and ensure that our parents still have the opportunity to enjoy the retirement they worked so hard for together.
Anyone who knows our dad knows he’s spent countless years coaching and supporting others—often stepping in even when he didn’t have a personal connection to the team. He’s the kind of person who always shows up and lends a hand, no questions asked. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Every donation helps lighten their load, and every share spreads the word. Thank you for supporting our family through this difficult season.
With gratitude,
Amber & Eric
