Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Patricia, and I’m reaching out to you during a challenging time in my life. Recently, I suffered two strokes due to a heart condition that I was unaware I had, which required me to have a cardiac pacemaker placed to regulate my heart rate. The strokes left me with constant nerve pain and deficits on the right side of my body. This life-changing event has been incredibly difficult, but my journey took a turn for the worse when I found myself in a domestic violence situation.
For too long, I endured extreme emotional and verbal abuse from my husband. The abuse became more frequent and greatly intensified immediately following my strokes, which escalated to a point where I feared for my safety. In a brave decision to protect myself, I left our home and filed for an order of protection against my husband. Initially, I sought refuge in a domestic violence shelter, but now I am safe with family. The judge granted me the order of protection, but she allowed my husband to stay in our home because I am not able to pay the mortgage. Unfortunately, my husband has since refused to allow me to return for my belongings, including my essential clothing and crucial medications.
Currently, I am living without any income or access to my vital medical supplies. I am relying on the support of my daughter, but this is not sustainable in the long run. I have countless medical bills and medications that I need to pay for, and without help, I am overwhelmed and extremely anxious about my future.
I am asking for your support to help cover my medical expenses, necessary medications, and basic living costs as I navigate this difficult transition. Every dollar makes a difference, and I am deeply grateful for any amount you can contribute. If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with others who may be able to help.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness and support mean the world to me as I work towards regaining my independence and better health.
With gratitude,
Patricia
