There are very few people that know what is currently going on in our lives right now aside from a handful of our very closest friends and family for many reasons, most of which being the stigma behind the process, as well as the pity looks and remarks that follow. We have never been the type of people to ask for handouts, or post our business publicly. We keep everything personal that we’re going through in our home and off of social media as much as possible.
With That being said, September of 2024 Josh and I reached out to a fertility specialist, because we had been trying for a baby for three plus years & weren’t getting anywhere and didn’t know why. They ran test on both of us, figured out where the problem was in October and that hit us very hard. In late December we found out that IVF was going to be our only option.
We never really imagined having to go through something like that, & you never really think it will be you because unfortunately, it is not talked about enough. Finding out took a huge toll on us mentally in many ways, but also gave us hope at the same time. Since starting the journey, it has cost us more money than we ever imagined, because unfortunately, our insurance does not cover IVF, nor the medications that go with it.
Since December, we have only told a handful of people, and asked for zero handouts. We love and appreciate the friends that treat us like family & have been there for us mentally in every way they could.
But as mentally draining as it’s been, it has also been very financially draining. This is very hard on our part and we absolutely understand that everybody has struggles and don’t expect anything from anybody. At the very least if you’ve made it thus far and can’t contribute then we ask you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers because this is single-handedly the most difficult situation we’ve ever been through.
