Support Nick Harrison’s Battle with Brain Cancer

On April 24 th , Nicholas Harrison (affectionately known to friends as Harry) received life-changing news. After five days of persistent headaches, he was advised to visit the ER. Within 24 hours, Nick was in surgery to remove a tumour from his brain. The pathology confirmed the diagnosis: grade IV glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and malignant form of brain cancer.

His family are deeply grateful to the incredible team at Lions Gate Hospital for acting so quickly, and to BC Cancer, who began developing a treatment plan immediately. Their care and urgency have made a world of difference.

Nick is a devoted husband to Fiona – his best friend, soulmate, and true partner in every sense. Fiona is the first to show up for others, full of warmth, clarity, and generosity. Now, as they face brain cancer, she is by his side with unwavering love. Of course, this diagnosis has brought tremendous challenges, and Fiona’s strength in the midst of it all has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Nick is also a loving and deeply devoted father to Isabelle and Reilly. During his treatment he is prioritizing spending time with them. It’s always been clear to anyone who sees Nick with his kids how much he adores them. Together, Fiona and Nick have chosen to face this with openness and honesty – helping their kids understand what’s happening while grounding them in the constant love and support that surrounds them. Throughout this uncertainty, their family remains close and connected.

Nick is deeply loved by his extended family, and he holds each of them close to his heart.

Among his wide circle of friends, he’s the one who always shows up—the steady, loyal, and kind presence you can count on. Though much of Fiona and Nick’s family lives in Ireland, the outpouring of love from their local community and friends worldwide reminds them that they are not alone.

Nick’s journey has begun an intense course of radiation and chemotherapy treatment which is currently slated to last until February 2026. True to form, he’s meeting it with his signature strength, positivity, and resolve. Just last year, he mountain biked an elevation of over 10,000m (higher than Mount Everest!) to raise money for dementia research. That’s who Nick is – driven by love for his family, fuelled by purpose, and always looking to uplift others.

Now, it’s our turn to support Nick and Fiona.

This fund allows friends, family, and supporters – near and far – to offer tangible help. It gives Nick and his family the flexibility to respond to whatever needs arise and creates a way for all of us to show up and support, no matter the distance.

Thank you for standing with Nick and his family. Let’s help lighten the load so they can focus on what matters most.

In Nick’s own words, “Let’s keep the hope alive, the belief strong and the laughter flowing. THIS WILL NOT BEAT ME!”

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
