Hi, my name is Marlee Sipe and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my dad, Luke Sipe. My dad is currently going through the biggest challenge he has ever had to face in his life – cancer.
Just a few weeks ago, our lives were turned completely upside down when we received the devastating news that my dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It is hard to put into words just how much this has shaken our world. Hearing this diagnosis has been heartbreaking for everyone close to him. To watch him go from his happy self, seeing his friends, taking the dog for walks, etc., to being tired and drained every day and not being able to work his beloved job at Southwest Airlines has been very hard to see.
Anyone who knows my dad knows how strong, kind, and generous he is. He would do anything to help a friend, neighbor, or a stranger and he cares so much for his family. He is the kind of person who is always showing up for others with a quiet strength and steady presence.
Now, my dad needs our help. As he begins to fight for his life, the stress of medical bills and day-to-day expenses coming in and piling up has started to take a toll on him and it is a stressor that I am really hoping to relieve from him. Between hospital visits, upcoming treatment, medications, and time off of work, the expenses are starting to add up in ways we never could have imagined. With my dad being unable to work and my mom taking time off work to be with him, I am working my job full-time in order to help in any way I can, but it is apparent that it has created a new level of worry that is affecting his focus during this time when he should be focusing on his health. My family is doing everything we can, but it is clear that we can’t do this alone. This fundraiser will help give him a sense of peace of mind to focus on himself and the battle he is facing.
If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to us. It would go directly towards medical expenses, treatment, and helping to cover basic living expenses all while he is focusing on getting better. If you are unable to donate, keeping my dad in your thoughts and prayers and/or sharing this page means just as much to us.
Thank you so much to everyone who has shown support and has reached out with well wishes during this difficult time. We know my dad is incredibly loved by so many, and he is strong and will try his hardest to get through this tough battle with his positive and humorous mindset.
With love,
Marlee
