As many know, I was expecting my son in August of this year. At 26 weeks and 1 day, I had a placental abruption and had an emergency c-section to save me and my baby’s life. Leo Joseph is now in the NICU and has a very long road ahead of him.
At day one of life, he had a brain bleed, which leaves us even more unprepared for what the future will look like. We have had amazing support through friends and family; we are just trying to prepare the best we can for him to come home one day. He will be in the NICU until at least his due date, August 21, 2025.
I will be trying to save my maternity leave for when he comes home but really don’t want to leave him yet as he is still so up and down day to day. Also, if you know me, you know I have a really hard time asking for help, but not this time.
