Support Lawrence’s Journey to Health

Hi! I’m Cynthia Williams and I’m creating a fundraiser for my brother Lawrence Bryant. He had an accident on a electric bike in Miami, FL bach in March which caused him to break his knee cap. He had his first surgery in March of this year at Jackson North by a Dr who had no clue what he was doing. My mom and I traveled down to Miami to help him get situated for the first few days after he got home because he has no family there. The Dr first of all forgot to put a drain in to drain out the blood. This caused a lot of excruciating pain and they only sent him home with 12 pills. They didn’t send him home with any antibiotics or nothing. He called every day to try to get help but they only kept saying he would receive a call back. Almost a month went by and the area had opened up and started looking so horrible. It turned black and almost looked rotten or something so we told him that he needed to call the ambulance and go to the hospital. He did that which resulted in them telling him that the surgery wasn’t done correctly and there was no drain put in so he would have to have another surgery the following day. Also, they informed him that he has developed sepsis as a result of this. If you read up about sepsis it’s a really horrible disease that in many cases causes death. Anyway, he has had to have 3 surgeries so far and he still has to have at least one more after he heals a little because they are saying they have to disinfect the hardware but it’s to soon to do it now. He can’t work or anything only because they allowed these inexperienced Drs to perform a surgery that they weren’t capable of successfully completing. He was perfectly healthy and worked everyday even on his days off. He did have a little money saved but he has used it to stay afloat and now he really needs help. He can’t come up here with us because he has to get treatments from the disease control every day because of developing sepsis. Worse thing about it, is that the Drs will not be held accountable because that particular hospital can’t be sued because they are owned by the government. Please send anything you can. Also, please share because I am trying to get this story around because I do think their is something that can be done. These Drs should not be able to continue doing people like this with no consequences. Thanks in advance!!
