My name is Terri Edmundson. I am starting this for my daughter, Kendra, who is currently waiting to have surgery to remove a tumor on the underside of her brain.
Back story: She has had this for over 15 years and it has been monitored every few years for any growth. Her last scans (approx. 2 years ago) said it had not grown, so we were told she did not need to be seen again for 3-5 years. Well, for the last 2 weeks, she has not been feeling well but brushed it off as exhaustion and stress.
Saturday, she started having blackouts, unsteadiness on her feet, and blurry vision. I took her to the ED on Sunday, and they did a battery of neurological tests and a CT scan and found that the tumor had doubled in size, causing swelling and fluid on her brain. She was sent to Rochester to be evaluated by neurology specialists there. They all said the same thing: IT NEEDS TO COME OUT…
