Hi, my name is Amy, and I’m the youngest daughter of Kay Brown. Earlier this year, our lives were turned upside down when my mom received a devastating diagnosis: Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
For months, she had been dealing with a persistent cough—nothing alarming at first. But in February, we got the news that the cancer had already spread beyond her lungs. To say we were shocked is an understatement. Life can change in a moment, and for our family, this was that moment.
Kay is the heart and soul of our family. She has worked tirelessly for years in facilities management, often putting others before herself. She’s also a dedicated member of her church community—always showing up for others with a warm smile, kind words, and helping hands. Now, she needs us to show up for her.
Unfortunately, cancer doesn’t just take a toll on the body—it brings financial stress no family is ever fully prepared for. The costs of treatments, medications, scans, and hospital visits are quickly becoming overwhelming. Our family is doing everything we can, but we simply can’t keep up.
To make matters even more difficult, my dad, Cliff Brown, was recently diagnosed with mild dementia. Both of my parents are facing life-altering health challenges at the same time, and it’s more than anyone should have to bear alone.
We’re asking for your help. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward my mom’s medical expenses and helping my parents manage daily life during this incredibly difficult time. Even if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others—every share brings us closer to the support we need.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity mean the world to us.
With love and gratitude,
Amy Silva, Dana Lucky & the Brown Family
