Support Joshua’s Medical & Therapy Needs

Joshua is a bright and energetic 5-year-old who loves playing with cars and basketballs. He lights up when he’s around other children, but his medical conditions make it difficult for him to enjoy the simple joys of childhood. Joshua has autism with speech challenges, severe asthma, eczema, and multiple life-threatening allergies. Because of these health issues, he can’t play outside or join other kids, and his diet is extremely limited—he can’t have milk, cheese, eggs, or peanuts.

I am a single mother, and caring for Joshua is a full-time commitment. I lost my job because I needed to be there for him, especially when his health keeps him out of school. While our church has helped us when they can, the financial strain is overwhelming. Every week, Joshua attends speech and behavioral therapy, and he receives allergy shots to help manage his reactions. He’s in a special needs class at school, and his daily routine involves a complex schedule of medications and treatments. Some of the medications that truly help him are not covered by insurance, leaving us with bills we can’t manage alone. One essential medication alone costs over a thousand dollars, and there are many others that add up quickly.
