My son Johnathon is 13 years old and has already faced more challenges than most people do in a lifetime. On December 19th, 2024, he received a life-saving heart transplant. Since then, our lives have revolved around his recovery and the ongoing care he needs to stay healthy. Johnathon now takes three anti-rejection medications—MyFortic, Prednisone, and Prograf—twice a day, every day, for the rest of his life. These medications are essential to keep his body from rejecting his new heart, and the costs add up quickly. Weekly hospital visits and appointments with different doctors have become our new normal, making it impossible for me to work and adding to the financial strain on our family.
Despite everything, Johnathon remains a bright and resilient spirit. He loves fishing, riding 4 wheelers in the woods, and spending time with his family. Video games are his favorite way to unwind, and he brings so much joy to everyone who knows him. Johnathon has been through so much since birth, but he continues to inspire us with his strength and positivity.
