Two of my favorite people need your prayers and blessings.
On May 5th, the day after my brother Jeremy and his wife Meg celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary, X-rays revealed a large mass in Jeremy’s left lung. After weeks of doctor’s appointments and further testing, Jeremy was officially diagnosed with cancer in the form of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), an aggressive subtype of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Jeremy will be undergoing vigorous chemotherapy over the next 4-5 months with hopes of a full remission. Initial prognosis is encouraging, but further interventions may be warranted depending on his body’s response. Due to the aggressive nature of his treatment, doctors have also encouraged fertility preservation so Meg and Jeremy can make alternate plans to start their family. Even with insurance, these medical bills will be extensive and his ability to work will be limited.
Many people have asked how they can help support them during this difficult time of uncertainty and need. If you feel inclined, we’ve organized this fundraiser to ease some of the upcoming financial costs of Jeremy’s treatment, allowing him to better focus on the fight ahead. This fundraiser will go directly to Jeremy and Meg to help cover these medical bills, assist in lost income, and help navigate other unexpected expenses.
Jeremy has a special way of connecting with people. He welcomes others with his joyful smile, warm laughter, and caring soul–he seriously never meets a stranger! He’s a wonderful big brother who makes me laugh, inspires me to grow, and encourages me to live life confidently, without fear. He is a compassionate man who doesn’t hesitate to serve others, and has dedicated his career as a physical therapist to help improve the lives of the people in his community. Now it’s our chance to return the kindness he so willingly offers to others by supporting him and his wife through this difficult chapter.
Jeremy will be celebrating his 37th birthday on June 7th, so let’s make it one he will never forget for all the right reasons. Any donation or share of this fundraiser is a gift that keeps on giving. In lieu of fundraiser, you can also contribute directly through his Venmo @jer912. Thank you for your kindness and generosity, it is greatly appreciated.
Updates will be shared periodically for those interested in keeping up with Jeremy’s journey to recovery.
