As many of you know, my son Jason has been in the ICU for several weeks battling extensive injuries from an incident. Jason is working very hard at fighting for his life and headed in the right direction. He has sustained a major brain bleed with swelling to his brain that required a drain to slow the swelling, a broken jaw on both sides, a metal rod was impaled into his eye and hit his brain, and multiple other fractures including several vertebrae. He was placed on a ventilator to assist with his breathing.
Since his initial admission to the ICU, he is showing amazing signs of improvement, but this is going to be a very long road to recovery.
We are working on getting him placed at a brain and spine institute. Due to the location of where the rod hit his brain, he will struggle with fine motor skills, speaking, memory, and thought processing. The exact extent of all his injuries is still unknown at this moment. But we have full faith Jason and his team of therapists, nurses, and doctors will do everything they can to get him through this challenging time.
His love for music and the support of family and friends has helped keep Jason pushing to overcome this each day.
He has been enjoying music being played for him and has even played the air guitar a time or two.
We are reaching out to bring awareness to Jason’s recovery journey. He will unfortunately be impacted with extensive medical bills and of course life doesn’t stop with rent and other expenses. Our focus is to make sure Jason’s only concern is his fight to recovery. Any donation to help assist Jason in his recovery process is so greatly appreciated. But more importantly, we want to bring awareness to Jason’s injuries and the strong fighter he is.
