Support Haily’s Battle with Brain Disorder

Hello! My name is Haily, and I am 25 years old. I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri (idiopathic intracranial hypertension). It is considered a rare brain disease with no known cause. Currently, I am on diuretics to help my body get rid of the built-up spinal fluid that is causing my body to have tumor-like symptoms. There is no known cure for this brain disease, but after doing some research, I found studies showing that with the realignment of the upper cervical vertebrae, it can essentially “cure” IIH. The brain’s stem cell sits in these first two vertebrae, and with the slightest bit of misalignment, it can cause so much damage to the entire nervous system. Mine is pretty severely misaligned. This would mean me having to go to an upper cervical chiropractor specialist. Insurance, unfortunately, does not cover these things. Without seeking a specialist, I will be stuck dealing with so many tumor-like symptoms and having to continue to take diuretics, which can cause kidney failure or kidney stones, or have a shunt placed in my brain to help fluid be released into my abdomen. Which will not “cure” me. It will only make my symptoms a little bit more manageable. I was quoted a price today that I knew would be incredibly difficult for me to be able to pay. I have so much going on already, so having to come up with this amount seems impossible for me. So although I’ve never asked for help before, I’m asking now. No one should suffer with medical issues because of a price tag, but unfortunately, that’s the world we live in. I work a full-time job, and on my days off, I do a side job to make ends meet. I’m currently paying off the debt I have from just being diagnosed with this. Every single bit of help I receive would mean more than you’ll ever know.
