We are reaching out on behalf of our colleague Sunil Kumar, whose wife, Geeta Pal, is in critical condition following a medical emergency during childbirth. What began as a routine delivery at Naari Women’s Hospital quickly turned into a life-threatening crisis. Geeta Pal was urgently transferred to Synergy Hospital on June 4th and placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she remains under intensive care.
Geeta Pal’s condition deteriorated rapidly after delivery. She was placed on ECMO, an advanced life support system, and has since been moved between ECMO and a ventilator multiple times as her condition remains unstable. Her kidneys have failed, requiring daily dialysis, and she continues to need blood transfusions and specialist care. Sunil has stopped working to be by her side and care for their family during this unimaginable ordeal. The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming, with ongoing medical expenses for ICU care, life support, and dialysis. Every day brings new challenges and costs, and the family’s only focus right now is Geeta Pal’s survival and stabilizing her condition so she can return home to her loved ones, including Sunil, their 5 year old daughter Bhavya Pal and their new baby boy Adrith Pal.
