Hello, my name is Yanelly Mata, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Francisco Mata.
On Saturday afternoon, our lives changed unexpectedly. My father had an accident while trying to mount his horse. As he attempted to get on, the horse suddenly rose onto its two hind legs. My father tried to hold on, but the horse moved abruptly, causing him to fall backwards. He hit the ground hard, landing on his back and head.
He was rushed to the hospital, where we found out he had suffered a brain bleed. He is currently sedated and on an oxygen machine to help him breathe. Doctors have decided to perform a procedure to insert a breathing tube directly into his neck for more long-term support.
My dad is not only a loving father, but also a brother, a friend, and a provider for our family. He will not be able to work for a while, and we don’t know how long his recovery will take. We are asking for any help – whether it’s through a donation or even just sharing this fundraiser – to support him during this difficult time. All funds will go toward medical expenses, home care, and support for our family.

Hola, mi nombre es Yanelly Mata y estoy pidiendo ayuda en nombre de mi padre, Francisco Mata.
El sábado por la tarde, nuestras vidas cambiaron inesperadamente. Mi papá tuvo un accidente mientras intentaba montar su caballo. Al intentar subirse, el caballo se levantó repentinamente sobre sus dos patas traseras. Mi papá trató de sostenerse, pero el caballo se movió bruscamente, lo que causó que cayera hacia atrás. Cayó con fuerza al suelo, golpeándose la espalda y la cabeza.
Fue llevado de emergencia al hospital, donde nos informaron que había sufrido un sangrado cerebral. Actualmente está sedado y conectado a una máquina de oxígeno para ayudarlo a respirar. Los doctores han decidido realizarle un procedimiento para colocarle un tubo de respiración directamente en el cuello, como apoyo a largo plazo.
Mi papá no solo es un padre amoroso, también es un hermano, un amigo y un proveedor principal de nuestra familia. No podrá trabajar por un tiempo y no sabemos cuánto durará su recuperación.
