Hi, my name is Janney, and I’m navigating a life-changing health journey.
After working five years with Amazon, I’ve been placed on short-term disability due to a debilitating condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) — a form of dysautonomia that causes rapid heart rate, dizziness, and near-fainting just from standing or walking. Daily tasks like doing laundry, walking downstairs, or standing to cook are exhausting and sometimes unsafe.
I’ve been working with a primary care doctor and a cardiologist, trying different treatments — medications, compression, salt/electrolytes — but so far, there’s been little improvement. I was recently referred to a neurologist that had an earliest appointment of 11 months out, and I’m doing more testing to explore related conditions like SVT and IST as my heart spikes even laying down to 140 sometimes, and some days it decides ~190 is normal. Currently awaiting a call back for a formal Tilt Table Test to be able to formally submit POTS for disability.
Now I’m transitioning to long-term disability through my insurance provider, but once that happens, Amazon stops contributing to my health insurance, and I’ll be forced onto COBRA, which is significantly more expensive. I haven’t been paid in weeks, and I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat — but the costs of care, prescriptions, and just surviving are overwhelming.
I’m asking for help to cover:
Health insurance premiums (COBRA)
Out-of-pocket medical visits and prescriptions
Transportation to appointments
Basic living expenses while I wait on disability decisions
Every donation — no matter the size — helps me stay insured, stable, and focused on healing.
Thank you so much for your support, kindness, and shares. It truly means the world.
