Support for Mom’s Stroke Recovery Journey

So, I am raising money for my mom. She is 83 years old and my mom had a stroke in 2019. It has been a few years, but in 2025, she had 2 more strokes. The first one in 2025 was not as bad, but the second one was severe. When she got out of the hospital, she had to go to therapy and was at a nursing home. Over there, it was nasty; the people did not really care. They did not change her, and we had to tell them to change her. After a few months, mom had a fever, and the nurse did not say anything. They let her sit like that all night, which led to a seizure and then turned into a stroke. The next day, they found her unresponsive and called us. But as we were on our way, they still didn’t call the ambulance. We had to do it ourselves, and we were skeptical.

We were skeptical about having her go to another rehabilitation center. Just a few months in, she had another seizure. We were scared, but she was fine, and we took her home. She has been doing good, except we have to pay for her medication and the wheelchair. We also have to get the bathroom done so it’s wheelchair accessible, get a wheelchair for the shower, and get a ramp for the house. We have to pay a nurse to come so that my mom is getting the help that she needs. If you’re reading this, thank you for hearing her story.
