In the early hours of Thursday, June 5th, Rhonda and Paul received the kind of call every parent dreads — their son Luke had been in a devastating car accident.
Luke’s car veered off the road, hitting both a pole and a tree before he was ejected through the windshield. Emergency responders rushed him to the nearest hospital, where he was immediately admitted to the ICU with life-threatening injuries. The most crucial being his Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).
Luke has already undergone 6 surgeries for multiple wounds to kidney, liver, and bladder. He has had a plastic surgeon work to repair and reconstruct severe lacerations to face and cranium. Many more procedures will be necessary as he recovers. Currently, Luke remains unconscious and unresponsive. We will post updates as they occur.
Luke is a fighter, and he’s surrounded by love — but the road ahead will be long, uncertain, and incredibly hard. The medical expenses, time off work, travel, and ongoing rehabilitation needs are already adding up.
We’re starting this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden for Luke during his extensive recovery period and potential long-lasting hurdles. Any donation — big or small — will make a meaningful impact.
Other ways to support the Thomsons include:
1. Carebridge
2. Meal Train
And above all, we ask for your prayers, good thoughts, and continued support for Luke and his family.
Thank you for standing with them during this unimaginable time.
With deep gratitude
