On Friday June 6th, 2025, my sister Kaylah took her daughter Evelyn to Urgent Care because she was not feeling well. Her skin and eyes were turning yellow and she felt that something was not okay. Urgent Care ran a few tests and recommended that she go directly to Dell Children’s in Austin, TX to have more tests run. Dell Children’s admitted her that night and she remained under their care until the evening of June 10th, 2025.
While she was at Dell Children’s they began treating and monitoring her symptoms. They determined something was wrong inside her liver. As they continued to run tests and monitor her symptoms; Dell Children’s Hospital made the determination to transfer Evelyn to University Health Woman’s & Children’s hospital in the early hours of June 11th, 2025.
Since arriving at UH-SA; they have continued to monitor and run more tests. Evelyn’s liver has continued to not function correctly. The doctors are trying to find solutions (at this time) that would prevent Evelyn from receiving a liver transplant; but that it may be a reality in a few weeks if she does not begin recovering.
All of these tests and monitoring will keep Evelyn & Kaylah in the San Antonio hospital for a few more weeks at a minimum; and even longer if they decide to move forward with a transplant.
During this time, Kaylah (as the primary caregiver) will be unable to go to work and receive a regular paycheck. We have created this fundraiser to help Kaylah cover the cost of her monthly bills and also cover any potential hospital expenses accrued during her stay.
We will continue to update this fundraiser account as we receive more information! Please continue to pray for Kaylah & Evelyn as they navigate these next few weeks!
Any donation (big or small) would be a great help and much appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read this!
