On Father’s Day, Canaan Cameron was in a major motorcycle accident. He was pulling out from a parking lot after having lunch with his dad, stepmom, and stepbrother. As he was traveling away from the restaurant, a woman pulled out in front of him, causing him to impact the vehicle. He was life-flighted to Maine Health in Portland. Canaan sustained broken ribs, a collarbone, a pelvis, a major laceration to his leg, and numerous other minor breaks and lacerations. Pelvic breaks are especially risky due to the large number of blood vessels in the immediate area. Canaan’s issue was no different; he needed 30 units of blood over the course of 24 hours to maintain. At this point, Canaan is stable, and they are working to repair his pelvis and other issues. He has a very long road ahead of him. He will have a lengthy recovery in the hospital, lots of physical therapy, and follow-up visits.
Anyone that knows Canaan knows how much of a sweet, caring man he is. He is always putting others before himself and has a big heart. He cares so much for others, especially those that aren’t as fortunate as he is.
With all of these looming costs, we are asking for generous donations to assist. The below is a short list of items that donations will be used for:
Hotel costs so his immediate family can stay close by while he recovers
Materials to build a wheelchair ramp into his house
Other modifications to his home to support wheelchair use
Mounting medical expenses that wouldn’t be covered by insurance
Cash to cover his recurring personal expenses while he is out of work
Canaan’s entire family would like to thank you for your kind contribution; every bit helps.
