Where oh where do I begin?! Paul Bustrin, my boyfriend, is one of the most giving people I know. He is the owner and barber of Royal Avenue Barbershop. He is also an up-and-rising graffiti artist who has created murals around town for many to enjoy and for local businesses. He is a friend and brother to many in our community. He is the type of guy who will give you the shirt off his back when it’s 30° outside to make sure you’re not cold. He has donated his time to many organizations as well as supported so many people with free haircuts throughout his career.
Unfortunately, Paul requires surgery to remove what’s called a Cholesteatoma; if left untreated this can potentially become deadly. The cholesteatoma is a growth in his middle ear, that has caused him to lose hearing in his right ear. This surgery is crucial to his quality of life. During the surgery, they will also rebuild his eardrum in hopes of regaining his hearing. His total recovery time is 6-8 weeks, and for the first 1-3 weeks he won’t be able to barber as this is crucial healing time. As an independent contractor, if ya don’t work, ya don’t make money! Paul is a workaholic, and this time off is going to be extremely hard for him. I am seeking help to cover his loss of wages during his recovery time so financial stress is the least of his worries. He needs this time to heal properly so he can get back to what he loves the most, serving his community and creating art for others to enjoy.
Please, no donation is too big or too small, every little bit helps. I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. I also ask, if you’re not at a place to donate, please help spread the word.
Thanks again!
