My great niece Ava found out in Dec 2020 she has Lupus. She was 11 at the time. It has been hard to control, and she is now on a chemotherapy medication for better control of her lupus. Throughout this ordeal, she has maintained a 3.95 GPA. She will graduate next year from high school. She tries to stay busy and do as recommended by doctors: stay out of the sun and limit exposure. She found out she loved figure skating, and I decided to pay for her lessons. She could do a sport, and it is not outdoors. I have recently retired and can no longer pay the cost of the lessons. I told her she needed to stop the lessons. I could tell she was heartbroken. I am wanting to give her this wish (to continue lessons).
The more lessons she can do, she will qualify for local competitions.
Thank you for allowing me to share her story.
