My sister Amber was the victim of a pedestrian hit and run on the evening of May 29th, 2025, in St. Petersburg, FL. Amber was critically injured and has already endured 3 major surgeries. She had 9 broken ribs, which resulted in a lacerated and collapsed lung, a broken humerus bone, and a broken back. She is currently in the trauma ICU at Orlando Health, formerly Bayfront, and her healing journey has just begun.
We have been told that Amber will be in need of full-time care, even after her long process involving inpatient rehab. Which brings us to the out-of-pocket cost of at-home care. Amber’s partner is employed full-time, and so are most of her family that live close enough to help. We’re hoping to raise enough money to be able to pay a caretaker and possibly make some minor upgrades in her home, like a new mattress and carpeted floors, that will make her more comfortable and it more accessible for her to move around.
Thank you so much for any and all donations! We’re just so happy Amber is alive and can’t wait to see her get better and better with each passing day.
