14 years ago today, Amanda had brain surgery, surgery was supposed to bring complete relief…instead it brought on Dysautonomia, a daily fight through symptoms that have been too complex for even the most educated doctors to explain and too numerous for Amanda to put into words. 2 days short of 14 years later…one answer has been found! A God sent doctor, a physical therapist with a heart of gold and knowledge and personal experience to match and a very specialized MRI finally found very significant cervical spine instability and spinal cord compression, with high suspicion that her brain stem as well as her Vagus nerve are being greatly affected, explaining so many of her symptoms and the “why is this so hard” “why does this make me feel like I’m going to die” daily moments. She will have to start 6 months of very specialized intense physical therapy for improvement in symptoms enough to have a better quality of life…if there isn’t significant improvement at the end of the 6 months we will have to consult a Neurosurgeon and go from there. We are praying against surgery, as we were told another major surgery will “rock her world” again due to the Dysautonomia. Amanda found out this morning that this PT is not covered by her insurance and is just not possible with the high out of pocket cost. It will cost over 7,000 for PT over the next 6 months. This is her greatest chance of preventing another major surgery and hopefully finally finding some relief. If you find it in your heart to help in any way, we would be thankful beyond words.
