Support Luigi’s Recovery
On May 31st, our beloved Luigi was struck by an uninsured driver while crossing the street with his cousins, Yona and Nico. While Yona and Nico were physically unharmed, they endured the deep trauma of witnessing their cousin suffer severe, life-threatening injuries.
Luigi was airlifted to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, where he spent several days in the ICU. Thanks to his incredible strength and the outstanding care he’s received, Luigi has made remarkable progress — but our family is devastated. Seeing someone so young and full of life endure such trauma has shaken us all.
Luigi remains hospitalized and will continue to stay in the hospital long-term. His recovery will include physical therapy, speech therapy, and close medical monitoring. While it’s still uncertain, what further medical needs he will need, we know his healing journey will be long, challenging, and costly.
Luigi is an amazing kid — a bright student who earns excellent grades and is deeply loved by his classmates, teachers, and everyone who knows him. He’s kind, funny, and full of life — and right now, he’s showing tremendous courage and stregth every single day.
We are raising funds to help cover the many unforeseen expenses that come with an accident like this: extended hospital care, therapies, travel and lodging for his parents, lost income, and possibly attorney’s fees as we seek accountability from the uninsured driver involved.
