Hello, my name is Whitney, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother and best friend, Ronny — known to most of you as “BJ.”
Just over a year ago, BJ was full of hope and excitement after earning his CDL and beginning a new career in trucking. But not long into this new chapter, he started experiencing unexplained and severe back pain. By August 2024, the pain had become unbearable, and he began seeking medical treatment.
After months of doctor visits and ongoing pain, BJ was finally referred to a specialist. A bone density scan revealed six compression fractures — an alarming finding for someone who hadn’t experienced any major trauma. Even more concerning, doctors noticed that BJ had lost 57 pounds over a short period of time. Further tests uncovered something devastating: BJ was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. The myeloma cells had already severely damaged his spine and hip, with over 80% of his bone marrow affected.
Since January 6, 2025, BJ has been unable to work and has only been receiving 60% of his normal income — all while still facing 100% of his living expenses. On top of everyday costs, BJ is now carrying over $100,000 in medical debt due to the intensive treatments required to fight this disease.
Despite the challenges, BJ has courageously completed his chemotherapy treatments. While we’re incredibly proud of his strength, his journey is far from over. He now needs a stem cell transplant, a procedure that brings hope for long-term remission — potentially giving him up to 20 more years of quality life. This transplant will also require extended recovery time and more time away from work, adding to his financial burden.
BJ is not just fighting for himself — he’s fighting to continue being the incredible father, brother, and friend we all know and love. I’m asking for your support to help ease the financial strain during this critical time. Your donation will go directly toward his medical bills, everyday living expenses, and supporting his children while he undergoes this life-saving procedure and recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with BJ during his fight. Any amount, no matter how small, truly makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Whitney
