Stand with Justin: Surviving Against Odds

My name is Jeannie Shoop and I started this for my husband, Justin Shoop. He’s my world, my best friend. He has multiple health issues, including diabetes, and I’m asking for a little help for our bills, gas, and non-food items.

It started on September 1st, 2023. I found him unconscious that morning. Could not wake him up. Called 911, and they took him to our local emergency room. They had to put him on a ventilator. They said he had COVID and he had been vomiting, and it went into his lungs. The doctor gave him a 10% chance of survival. They were not equipped to properly care for him, so he was flown about 45 minutes away. I was unable to follow in my car because I didn’t have enough gas. I was able to go the next day thanks to someone giving me gas money. I did call multiple times throughout the night. They kept him sedated and on a ventilator for 5 days. He went to a rehab facility for several weeks. He survived, thanks to God! He’ll have issues with his lungs from now on.

A few months later, he developed seizures. We didn’t know what kind or why for almost 6 months. He finally got a diagnosis of schizophrenia/bipolar with depression. The medication has helped, but he will have random seizures for the rest of his life. He was also diagnosed with a failing gallbladder and failing pancreas. They need to do surgery for those but can’t until his seizures are under control. In August of 2024, he developed a bad wound on his left foot.

Thankfully, the wound doctors got it healed. Just a few months ago, his left knee was hurting and swollen. Tests showed multiple fractures. The surgeon said he needed a complete knee replacement. It would only get worse. He has applied and reapplied for disability, but we’re still waiting on a decision. Until then, we would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you and God bless

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
