Six days before our twins’ 8th birthday, our daughter Abigail was taken to the ER with stomach pain that had increased over the prior weeks. During diagnostic testing, it was discovered that she had a large tumor in her abdomen that caused her intestines to telescope into each other.
The intestines required emergency surgery the next day to repair the damage. The tumor was diagnosed as Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a rare aggressive cancer. She was given a stoma and will be using an ileostomy bag to allow her intestines to heal during her cancer treatments.
Abigail will be undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatments that will require multiple hospitalizations over the course of six months.
Your contribution will help with medical costs that will be incurred from multiple hospitalizations and supplies for her ileostomy supplies, supporting her twin brother Elijah, and household expenses. Abigail will be inpatient for much of her treatment, so one parent will be taking time off from work to stay with her, which will affect our income.
Thank you in advance for any contribution that you are able to give to support us through this difficult time.
