What Happened

Because of her COPD, my mom was supposed to be admitted to an ICU.
But Baptist didn’t have one available.
So the next day, she was transferred to Methodist Hospital.
My dad stayed behind.
She refused Remdesivir.
He was never even asked.
They gave him two rounds—without consent.
After the second dose, his lungs collapsed.
He was ventilated and spent over 40 days hospitalized—drifting in and out of consciousness as his organs slowly failed.
The hospital billed over $600,000 to insurance for his death.
What they did was legal.
But it was not right.
While my father was dying, my mother—still recovering—sat beside him.

I asked the nurse for a replacement.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Since then, I’ve done everything I can.

At the same time, I’ve been building a long-term business plan that will one day fund her care—and help others like her.
But even if that loan gets approved tomorrow, the funds won’t be available in time.
