Help Misty Get Lifesaving Surgery
Hi, this is Ashley Elrod & Rachel Scherwitz , and we are fundraising for our dear friend Misty — a devoted mom of two who is fighting for her life.
Misty has been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cirrhosis, a devastating result of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Her condition is critical, and her doctors have made it clear: she needs weight loss surgery immediately in order to have a fighting chance. Without this surgery, her liver will continue to deteriorate — and time is not on her side.
Unfortunately, Misty’s insurance has denied coverage for the surgery, even though it has been deemed medically necessary. The cost is far beyond what her family can afford alone, and we are heartbroken that finances could stand in the way of her survival.
Misty is a loving mother and friend. She will do anything to help anyone. She has spent her life caring for others — now it’s our turn to help care for her.
