For those who are stumbling on this page through our friends and family, we want to take a quick second to introduce our family.
We are the Mantschs: Tom (dad), Lisa (mom), Stefanie (daughter) and Shaun (son). We are the four best friends that anyone ever had. Although Tom is known for being the silly and goofy one, many dont know that Lisa is actually the funniest one of us all! We talk to one another EVERY SINGLE DAY, love to make fun of each other, and would do anything for anyone.
With that, we are calling on our friends and family, and those who we dont know yet, to help support our family during this trying time. Lisa, the glue that holds our family together. The most supportive mother, wife, daughter and sister. The most underground silly and witty person. And the most beautiful person inside and out is embarking on a difficult journey that many will never have to endure. After beating breast cancer through surgery and radiation, she is now ready to beat liver cancer undergoing a transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. We have received two “dry run” calls meaning Lisa is on the top of the transplant list and we are anxiously awaiting the final call any day now.
With her operation and recovery, Lisa and Tom will need to temporarily relocate to Arizona for a few months to be able to do regular follow up tests to ensure the transplant was successful until she is healthy enough to return home. Tom will need to be her full time caregiver and will unfortunately not be able to return to work until she has fully recovered. With this type of operation, 24/7 care is needed and will take an emotional and physical toll on both of them. The reality unfortunately looks like a lot of additional expenses outside of the ones we already expect.
This is just another challenge that we KNOW Lisa will beat. Everything WILL work out! We are leaning in heavily on our faith to keep our spirits high. We want to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation to each and everyone of you and want to say THANK YOU in advance for any and all additional thoughts, prayers and shares. We look forward to giving updates and reporting back on Lisa’s successful recovery. In Moms words, “this is just a bump in the road”.
Love,
Stef, Shaun and and all “Meemaws” grandchildren. We cannot wait for you to get home!!
