Hello Everyone,
My name is Lola, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart on behalf of my younger sister, Oluwatosin Awosika, who has recently been diagnosed with a rare tumor called a Solid-Pseudopapillary Neoplasm, arising from pancreatic tissue which is possibly ectopic. She now requires urgent surgery to remove the tumor and prevent further health complications.
Unfortunately, her insurance no longer covers her, and the financial burden of surgery and related care has fallen entirely on her shoulders. This is a critical and time-sensitive procedure, and we are doing everything we can to support her as the financial burden is significant.
We are deeply humbled and grateful that her employer has generously offered to cover a portion of the medical costs. However, there is still a balance of $22,000 CAD that we need to raise to cover:
• The remaining surgical costs
• Hospital fees
• Medications and recovery support
• Travel, Additional post-operative care and living expenses.
The surgery itself carries serious consequences. Due to the nature of the tumor and its location, there is a high likelihood that removal could impair her pancreas, potentially resulting in insulin-dependent diabetes. This means she may require lifelong medication, insulin, and regular monitoring, adding to the long-term medical costs.
My sister is a strong, kind, and hardworking person who has always put others first. Now, she’s in a position where she needs help, and we’re hoping that friends, loved ones, and compassionate strangers might consider supporting her journey to recovery.
We’re humbly asking for support. Whether it’s through a donation, prayers or simply spreading the word. Every little bit makes a difference and brings us closer to getting her the medical help she urgently needs.
With Sincere Gratitude
Lola Awosika and Family.
