This is Kesharoo. She is our last living beagle rescue from a lab testing facility. In the past month we have noticed her belly is swollen and it was not going back to its normal size. We brought her to UC Davis Veterinary Clinic to have her looked at. Results from the ultrasound showed enlarged spleen & mass that is pushing on her intestines & causing her to have anemia. Even with the discounted price of the veterinary school, the estimated price for the surgery & tests could reach to $10,000. We are asking for your help so we can have her spleen & mass removed to relieve her pain & discomfort & give her more years with us. Kesharoo has been with us since 2010. Our love for dogs led us to adoption. We brought 2 male laboratory/biomedical beagles into our home 30 month old Ngoopy in 2006 and Pickles in 2008. They lived with us for the remainder of their natural lives. Sadly they passed on due to unexplained causes in 2007 and cervical injury in 2020 respectively. We miss them as our fur babies are our kids. Kesharoo is active and full of vigor. She has a 10 year old playmate in Summer, a pitbull terrier mix from New Mexico adopted by my eldest sister.
With your generosity, we will be able to provide comfort to Kesharoo. The removal of her spleen is a positive step towards recovery as the threat of a blood leak will be eliminated.
We hope to enjoy her seventh inning stretch in good health. Thank you.
