Meet Wendell Peters –
Wendell Peters is a beloved and active member of our community. At 71 years old, Wendell has spent decades giving back — serving on multiple local boards focused on aging, mental health, and community wellness. He has helped raise thousands for charitable causes over the years and is a dedicated member of his local church, where he volunteers his time and energy to help others. He’s also a devoted father to four adult children who adore him and have always looked up to his strength, compassion, and integrity.
Now, Wendell needs our help.
The Diagnosis
Wendell has recently been diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 prostate cancer. Tragically, the cancer has already spread to his bladder, making his treatment urgent and intensive. After initial therapies, Wendell is scheduled to begin radiation treatments on June 30th, which are critical to slowing the cancer’s progression and easing his pain.
These treatments are physically and emotionally taxing — but Wendell is committed to fighting with everything he’s got.
Why We Need Your Support
Wendell’s treatment center is located 152 miles away (one way) from his home. Due to the distance and the frequency of visits, reliable transportation and lodging are absolutely essential. Wendell will require rides (Uber, train, or shuttle), hotel stays, meals, and specialized supplements to keep his strength up during treatment.
We are seeking to raise $6,500 to cover:
Transportation costs to and from the treatment center
️ Lodging/hotel stays during radiation cycles
Nutritious meals and supplements to support his immune system
Ride services (Uber, local shuttles, etc.) for clinic visits
Other uncovered treatment-related expenses
