Help Our Colleague and Friend Mary Bezirjian Heal with Dignity
If you know Mary, you know she’s the kind of person who gives quietly and consistently without ever asking for anything in return. She’s the one organizing clothing drives, spearheading our annual Breast Cancer Awareness event, and making sure others have what they need, often before they even know they need it. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Recently, Mary was preparing for a long-awaited shoulder replacement surgery to help ease the excruciating and debilitating pain she lives with daily due to degenerative bone disease. But during her pre-op clearance, doctors discovered a new and concerning heart issue. As someone with a history of coronary artery disease and multiple heart surgeries, this was a frightening and unexpected setback.
She’s now scheduled for a nuclear stress test and likely more cardiac evaluations—putting her June 26 surgery date in jeopardy. In the meantime, she’s living with severe pain, limited mobility in both arms, and unable to work. She can’t even lift her arm to brush her hair. Every simple task—getting dressed, making food, even typing—has become incredibly difficult.
Despite all this, she’s still hesitant to ask for help. So let’s step up and help her anyway.
This fundraiser is to help cover:
* Basic living expenses while she’s unable to work
* Ongoing medical tests and treatments
* A house cleaner and business assistant to attempt to maintain some sort of business
* Post-surgical care including a necessary home aide
Any amount helps, and your support, whether it’s a donation, a share, or a message of encouragement, means the world.
She’s facing this with courage, grace, and hope. Let’s show her she’s not alone.
Thank you so much for your generosity.
