If you know my sister Emily, you know she has been fighting a courageous battle against UC (ulcerative colitis) for over 10+ years. She’s had numerous surgeries, spent a month in the ICU, received countless transfusions, and faced endless medical bills. Colitis is an invisible disease; one that Emily wears with a smile while in constant pain.
On March 6th, Emily was diagnosed with Stage 1 ER/PR+ Breast Cancer, a life-changing challenge that no one ever sees coming. Doctors said the tumor was small and with surgery (double mastectomy) the journey would be short.
However, results from the surgery revealed her cancer cells were aggressive and had made their way to her lymph nodes, and as a result, she will undergo an intense 8-round chemotherapy regimen followed by 4 to 6 weeks of radiation treatment.
As Emily goes through these challenging treatments, she is facing not only the unimaginable emotional toll but also the heavy financial strain that accompanies it. The mounting medical bills, living expenses, and the cost of ongoing treatments will quickly accumulate, creating an overwhelming burden during this already difficult time.
Emily has always been a source of strength for others, uplifting those around her with kindness, compassion, and resilience. She would never ask for help herself, which is why I am reaching out on her behalf. Now it’s our turn to support her. Let’s come together and give back the love and support she has selflessly shared with so many others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Emily in this brutal fight against cancer. Your generosity, prayers, love, and support mean the world to us.
She is going to get through this and she will rise again stronger.
