Join Drew in Supporting Karson’s Recovery

Hi, I’m raising funds for my boyfriend and his son, Karson. On May 16th, Karson fell ill with strep throat and rhinovirus that landed him in the hospital. Once he arrived at the hospital in Washington, they promptly transferred him to Children’s Hospital in STL, where they found he had a massive blood clot in the main artery of his brain. Since then, Karson has had several lumbar punctures done to alleviate pressure from spinal cord fluid building up, causing him to have vision problems in his right eye and severe migraines. He’s been on blood thinners since they discovered the blood clot in hopes it would dissipate, but the clot was too big, so they had to do a procedure called a mechanical thrombectomy.

After several setbacks, many tests, and being bedridden for a month, Karson’s muscles have severely deteriorated. Even when he makes it home from the hospital, he will have to do physical therapy daily, multiple times a day. He will also have several appointments with neurology, ophthalmology, physical therapy, a nutritionist, and his normal pediatrician.

Since all of this has happened, Drew, his dad, has not left his side. He has been there every single day and hasn’t been able to come home in a month. Before this happened, he was in between jobs when Karson fell ill, so he wasn’t able to use any FMLA, short-term unemployment, or any other resources.

I wanted to ask for anyone who is able to help to donate for medical expenses.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
